Storytelling

From the United Nations to The Smithsonian Institution and CNN-TV, De Mauro has captivated audiences around the world with the power of her storytelling.

Forming connections between universal themes and contemporary issues, she shapes myth, music and movement into compelling stories — richly told with warmth and wit — that draw from Ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology, as well as treasured tales from Native American, Medieval, Buddhist, and African traditions.

Her Business Storytelling Programs inspire speakers to enhance meetings with story and her use of Interactive Telling infuses public forums with vitality and meaning.

THE KID AND THE CATHEDRAL

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is a true sacred arts forum. In late 2001 the Cathedral Gift Shop suffered a terrible fire. As a way of creating revenue for the Fire Damage Fund, Karen De Mauro and the kids at PS11 school made a 40-minute storytelling tape about the gift of the Cathedral's mentoring and neighborhood involvement.
